BGT Group – 15 Years of Experience

15 years BGT

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of BAGAT (the oldest company within BGT Group), we speak with the Management Board – Aleksander and Eugeniusz Bochan – about how the logistics industry has changed over the years, and the journey from a local company to a recognized brand.

Fifteen years of operations is a huge milestone. What were the beginnings of BGT Group?

Eugeniusz: Our story began in 2010 in Bialystok. From the very start, we aimed for global reach, focusing on Europe and CIS countries. The specialty of our first company, BAGAT, was rail transport in the EU – CIS – EU corridor. We connected Europe with distant countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and even Turkmenistan.

Just two years later, in 2012, we made a strategic decision to expand into the Chinese market, quickly realizing that it was a completely separate universe in logistics. That’s how BGT Sp. z o.o. was established – a company dedicated exclusively to cooperation with China. From then on, BAGAT and BGT developed in parallel, conquering their markets and building strong foundations.

Today we have a team of experts, our own transshipment terminal, a developed network of partners, and thousands of completed shipments. But most importantly – the trust of our clients, which we have been building for years.

What has changed the most over these years – in the industry and within the company itself?

Aleksander: Everything. Every year the industry becomes more demanding – with faster pace, higher expectations, and growing geopolitical challenges. As for us, we evolved from a purely operational company into an advisory partner. We don’t just “deliver goods” anymore – we help our clients make strategic decisions.

We started out after the global financial crisis of 2008. Then came the first Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2014, followed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and since 2022, another phase of geopolitical destabilization. Despite these challenges, we not only survived each of them but also managed to grow, gain valuable experience, and consistently build our company’s foundations.

A major breakthrough came with our investment in our own infrastructure in 2020–2021. BAGAT decided to build a railway terminal and warehouse at the Polish-Belarusian border. By 2021, the facility was ready, fully equipped with driveways, ramps, a covered warehouse, and our own equipment such as cranes and forklifts.

Additionally, in 2022–2023, we joined prestigious international logistics associations such as WCA and JCtrans. This membership not only increased trust in our company but also gave us access to a global network of reliable partners and additional transaction security. It has significantly expanded the geography of our services and helped us attract new international clients.

What do you consider the greatest success of these 15 years?

Eugeniusz: That we managed to build a company based on values. For us, honesty, long-term relationships, and quality have always mattered more than quick profits. Another great success is the loyalty of our team – we have employees who have been with us since the very beginning. And, of course, the trust of our clients who stay with us for years.

We are also especially proud that we “survived” numerous crises that affected the entire transport industry – from the pandemic, through supply chain disruptions, to international sanctions and customs restrictions. While others withdrew, we looked for solutions. These experiences strengthened us and proved that we can operate effectively even in the most demanding conditions.

Finally, a major milestone that crowns these 15 years is the unification of BGT and BAGAT. In 2025, we joined forces, creating BGT Group – a powerful player with extensive experience in transport across Europe, the CIS, Central Asia, and China. Today we operate under one strong brand, with our own infrastructure, modern technology, and global ambitions. This path toward becoming an international giant, built on precise calculations and bold decisions, is our greatest pride and a symbol of our achievements.

What makes BGT Group stand out among other logistics companies?

Aleksander: We believe that in today’s business, logistics is not just a necessary cost, but above all a powerful tool for building competitive advantage and generating savings. Our primary goal is to help clients profit from their supply chains.

How do we achieve this? First and foremost, by deeply understanding their individual needs. We don’t deliver ready-made templates – we design tailor-made logistics solutions, perfectly suited to the type of goods, transport method, or delivery destination. This is made possible thanks to our key “one-stop shop” principle. We strive to ensure that every client has one trusted partner who takes full responsibility for the entire logistics process. This way, our clients can fully focus on their core business, with the assurance that their logistics are being managed in the most efficient way.

Eugeniusz: Exactly. In our approach, the one-stop shop principle is nothing more than a promise of full comprehensiveness and convenience for the client, regardless of the challenge. This means that every client – whether they need oversized transport, fragile shipments requiring temperature control, or complex customs operations across continents – can rely on us to handle everything end-to-end.

They don’t have to engage multiple carriers, agencies, or service providers. We integrate all these elements into one smooth process. Our advanced systems and experienced teams ensure that all formalities – from route planning to customs clearance – are handled by our company. As a result, we eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy, significantly shorten delivery times, and minimize the risk of errors – all of which translate into real savings and uninterrupted cargo flows.

And what about the future? What are your plans for the coming years?

Aleksander: We want to continue growing both technologically and geographically. We are heavily investing in modern systems, process automation, and document digitalization. We are also expanding our offer for the e-commerce sector, as well as export and import.

But people will always remain our top priority – both on the client’s side, where we build lasting relationships, and within our team, which is the driving force of the company. Our transformation into a strong player with global ambitions, sealed by the recent unification, is the perfect starting point for further dynamic international growth.

If you were to summarize these 15 years in one sentence – what would it be?

Eugeniusz: It has been a rollercoaster ride – but every challenge has made us stronger, and now we’re ready for the next ones.

Thank you for the conversation.

15 years in the market, the merger of two strong brands, and a team that truly knows the business – BGT Group enters the next stage of development with new energy.
