Flooding in Poland

The flood situation in southern Poland continues to worsen, causing serious disruptions in both road and rail transport. The most severe conditions are in the Opole, Lower Silesian, and Silesian Voivodeships, where water is inundating roads, bridges, and railway tracks.

Major Road Disruptions

Opole Voivodeship:

      • DK40 in Glucholazy: complete road closure.
      • DK40 in Mochow: single-lane traffic on the bridge due to high water levels.
      • DK45 in Krapkowice: road blocked due to undermining and damage to the surface.
      • DK46 in Malerzowice Wielkie: bridge closed due to high water levels.
      • DK46 in Kamienica: road blocked due to undermining and damage to the road surface.
      • DK94 near Skorogoszcz: complete road closure.

Silesian Voivodeship:

      • DK78 Chalupki – Olza: road blocked.
      • DK78 in Chalupki: border bridge closed.

Lower Silesian Voivodeship:

      • DK33 Klodzko – Boboszow: road blocked.
      • DK39 Strzelin – Wiazow: road blocked.
      • DK94 Boleslawiec: bridge closed due to high water levels.

Rail Disruptions

The situation is particularly severe at the Klodzko junction and Gluchołazy station, which have been most affected by the flooding. Train services have been suspended on the following sections:

      • Prudnik – Nowy Swietow,
      • Glucholazy station,
      • Klodzko Glowne station,
      • Otmuchow – Paczkow.

Additionally, border crossings with the Czech Republic at Chalupki – Bohumin, Zebrzydowice – Petrowice, and Cieszyn are impassable.
