November is a month that for many truckers means a time of heightened attention on the roads, especially because of the traffic bans that have been introduced. Restrictions are being introduced in Poland and many European countries, such as Germany, France and Croatia, to increase road safety and ease traffic during the pre-holiday period.

On what days and times are truck bans in effect?

October 31

      • Croatia: from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. – restrictions apply to combinations with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons and vehicles with trailers up to 14 meters.
      • France: from 10:00 p.m. to midnight – ban on trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons.
      • Luxembourg: from 11:00 p.m. to midnight in the direction of Germany and from 9:30 p.m. to midnight in the direction of France – restrictions apply to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons.
      • Germany: (Reformation Day) from 00:00 to 22:00 in selected regions (Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia). In Lower Saxony, the ban is in effect from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
      • Poland: from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – ban on vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 12 tons.
      • Slovenia: from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. – restrictions apply to trucks and vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons.
      • Hungary: from 10:00 pm to midnight – ban on trucks and vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight exceeding 7.5 tons.

November 1 (All Saints’ Day)

      • Austria: from 00:00 to 22:00 – ban on trucks with trailers over 3.5 tons, trucks and articulated vehicles.
      • Croatia: from 14:00 to 23:00.
      • France: from 00:00 to 22:00.
      • Luxembourg: from 00:00 to 21:45.
      • Germany: from 00:00 to 22:00 in selected regions (Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland) and from 6:00 to 22:00 in North Rhine-Westphalia.
      • Poland: from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
      • Slovakia: from 00:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m. – ban on regular trucks and trucks with semi-trailers or trailers with a gross vehicle weight of more than 3.5 tons.
      • Slovenia: from 00:00 to 22:00.
      • Hungary: from 00:00 to 22:00.
      • Italy: from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons.

November 10 (Sunday)

      • France: from 00:00 to 24:00.
      • Poland: from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

November 11 (Monday, Independence Day)

      • Poland: from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
      • France: from 00:00 to 22:00.

November 17 (Sunday, Day of Struggle for Freedom and Democracy)

      • Croatia: from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
      • Slovakia: from 00:00 to 22:00.

November 18 (Monday, Memorial Day)

      • Croatia: from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
