From 11 September 2024, drivers using the A2 highway in the Konin – Nowy Tomysl section will have to reckon with higher travel costs. The new rates will apply to all categories of vehicles – from motorbikes to oversize vehicles.

- 17 PLN – Cat. 6 (motorcycles). An increase of 1 PLN per 50 km, totaling 51 PLN for the entire 150 km section.
- 34 PLN – Cat. 1 (two-axle passenger vehicles). The most controversial category, with a rate increase from 32 PLN to 34 PLN per section, totaling 102 PLN for the entire route (up from 96 PLN).
- 55 PLN – Cat. 2 (two-axle vehicles with at least one twin-wheel axle or with trailers). The increase is more significant here, totaling 165 PLN for the entire route, 9 PLN more than before.

- 127 PLN – Cat. 4 (vehicles with more than three axles and three-axle vehicles with trailers). The heaviest vehicles will pay 381 PLN for the whole route, a substantial expense, especially for transport companies.
- 340 PLN – Cat. 5 (oversized vehicles). Oversized vehicles will face the highest fees—1,020 PLN for the entire route, which may significantly affect transport costs.
Reasons for the Increase
The toll increase on the A2 highway is explained by the rising costs of infrastructure maintenance, the need for necessary upgrades, and adapting the toll system to new economic conditions. Autostrada Wielkopolska, the operator of this route, emphasizes that the increases are necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of road users.
